Kuriyo Ando (安藤創世, Andō Kuriyo^?) is one of Hibiki's and Miku's friends and classmates. After the incident in GX Episode 3, she officially becomes member of S.O.N.G. when Genjuro Kazanari, the commander scouted her.

She is a Symphogear user and wields the Tronbokril relic.

Etymology[]

Kuriyo (創世, Kuriyo^?) - The term "創" means "start", "originate", or "create". The term "世" means "world". Used as a verb, it can mean to world creation.

Ando (安藤, Ando^?) The term "安" means "calm", or "peaceful". The term "藤" means "wisteria", a purple flower woody twining vines. Used as a verb, it can mean to calm wisteria.

Appearance[]

Kuriyo has short beige colored hair with a slightly longer strand on the left side of her face and pinkish-red eyes. She is most often seen wearing the Lydian Music academy uniform.

She inherits Tronbokril from her grandmother. The relic was passed down generations to generations by her family. However, she got it from her grandmother instead of her mother due to the fact that her grandmother doesn't trust her ignorant daughter to keep such valuable relic. Following after 3 years Kuriyo being born, her mother left her and her grandmother because she was unable to cope with the pressure of raising a child after her husband left her.

Season 1[]

She is first seen Episode 2 Calling Hibiki 'Bikki and asking her to go to Flower.

In Episode 3 she is seen along with Yumi feeding Hibiki as she writes her report. She later leaves with Yumi and Shiori to play badminton.

At lunch in Episode 7 Kuriyo comments that Hibiki is the one in the wrong as they notice the awkwardness between Hibiki and Miku. She tells Miku to just forgive Hibiki for being a blockhead. She makes another comment about Hibiki having a sort of secret job.

Kuriyo apologizes to Hibiki for what she had said the other day in Episode 8.

In GX Episode 3, when Hibiki and her friends are confronted by the third Autoscorer, Galie Tuman, who summons more Alca-Noise, Hibiki, who had been conflicted about using Gungnir to fight, suddenly finds herself unable to sing the chant needed to transform.^[1] Meanwhile, Kuriyo cursed herself for not bringing her relic with her as she left it in her drawer. Thanks to Shiori, they managed to escape for a while but soon got caught up by Alca-Noise. Hibiki who run at the back of the group, got hit by Alca-Noise on her shoes causing her to fall down. Her relic on her hands got toss into the air. In desperate time call for desperate measures, Kuriyo catch the relic and sang...

As a Symphogear user, she has the ability to fight Noise with the use of the anti-noise armour that clads her in battle. As a candidate for the Symphogear, she can activate relics with her song and summon armed gear in battle.

Kuriyo has used two Symphogears during her tenure, the first being the temporary Gungnir which is now in use by Hibiki. While Kuriyo wears it, it becomes known as Blue Gungnir due to it being attuned to Kuriyo's theme color, and reverts to the relic's original emphasis on fighting with an enormous two-handed lance. Kuriyo's lance is similar in design to Kanade's, but similar to Maria's large energy cannon "HORIZON†SPEAR", Kuriyo able to draw out the energy from the blue core in between the lance and the handle, then focus the energy to the lance, jump and rushes forward with her Armed Gear, unleashed the blue energy and then pierce through her target intensely, known as "DISTINCTIONδTHRUST".

While wielding Tronbokril, Kuriyo's fighting style remains the same as her unique Gungnir, drawing out energy from the blue core style. Kuriyo also uses Kanade's unique Gungnir fighting style like tornados/whirlwinds "LAST∞METEOR" on her Tronbokril, "BOREALδVORTEX" and "MALIGNANTδCYCLONE".
